| Rochdale – Town Centre redevelopment
The developer selection process under the OJEU procurement rules invited proposals for a mixed use redevelopment of a large area of Rochdale town centre. The competition gave Ask Developments Ltd and their joint venture partner Sultan Properties (the owner of the existing Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre) the opportunity to create an exciting extension to the town that created a new retail and leisure offer linking the old town centre to a new retail heart with riverside residential and office development.
RETAILfuture provided retail development advice to the bid and also undertook financial and viability analysis including the preparation of consolidated cashflows for each phase and type of development proposed. Due to a formal legal challenge the Council has decided to rerun the process and a Prior Information Notice has recently been issued to enable potential bidders to commence preparation for the bid process.
